everyone can create live visuals

I was invited by Dominika Goralska to give a workshop at the Ateliér of Koncept - objekt - instalace at the University of Ostrava. This was organised around the same time as my solo exhibition at Galerie Provoz, which was curated by Dominika ⋆˙⟡♡

Workshop description + requirements:

You are invited to join this workshop on creating live visuals that will focus on the accessibility of tools and the intention of storytelling. Followed by a presentation on my work and practise with live visuals, we will work together to make small experiments. So, bring yourselves, any found footage along with your phones and laptops (if possible).

Process

1. I briefly introduced my practise showing previous experiences, samples of work.
2. Then broke down my process with live visuals (particularly working with narrative structures in live AV contexts)
3. The activity:

• divide into groups/pairs
  • make sure you have a laptop to share
• discuss which material you would like to use, which tools
• create a 5-10 mins long set in reaction to the same audio piece
  • they chose QOW // Evil Medvěd ♡ 30min live set ☆ 30min DJ set ♡ Ma3azef ♡
• we watch each other’s works and discuss as an audience how we experienced them + as artists what was the process like behind these quick experiments
